The Queue

It’s a few days early, but I’d rather be early reminding y’all than late: Awesome Games Done Quick starts this Sunday. If you don’t know what it is, it’s a week-long charity event where speedrunners, well, speedrun! Last year’s AGDQ raised $2.4 million, and the summer equivalent raised $3 million. If you’ve never watched it, I highly suggest tuning in at least once during the event, especially if they’re playing a game/series you really enjoy. And even if not, tuning in for the final day is always infectiously wholesome.

So yeah, watch AGDQ this coming week. It’s a real good time. But before that…

It’s Queue time, baby!

They discovered a new kind of Aurora Borealis studying footage from three years ago, and it resulted from a strange compression in Earth’s magnetic field. So Earth’s magnetic field is under attack from an invisible enemy that can compress it and create whole new natural phenomena and we have no idea what’s happening. I mean, that’s the most reasonable theory. I’m not saying that the Earth’s magnetic field is being invaded by a sapient electromagnetic entity, but…

This question has come up from time to time, and I finally went to take a screenshot to show you where “my” house is in WoW. What better way to watch the passing of the year than from the comfort of your own home? Smell ya later, 2019.

Well then Hi!  I’m sure that these next six months without Anne will just fly by — I’m going to be keeping her spot warm until she gets back. This is my very first Queue and I’m very excited to be here. Let’s just dive in and Queue!

I have lost all sense of time since the holiday season started. Is it still November or has December finally arrived? Are we still in the middle of the December holidays or is it already January? Or February? Maybe March?

What even is time anymore?

Ugh, I don’t know. Let’s skip ahead to the questions.

Hello, everyone! Today is Boxing Day and also AmbulanceRobot’s birthday (unless Lotharfox was lying to me on Christmas). I had intended to make this full of 2BEs (get it?!) but I can’t find the document I made with all the 2BEs from several months back and you guys DID actually ask questions so it’s just a regular Queue.

ROUND ONE! QUEUE!

Some of us don’t celebrate the holidays due to being of a different religion or not any religion. Still others have personal reasons — a lost loved one, a personal philosophical decision, a change of heart — why they don’t or can’t. For much of my life, from the time my mother died in 1990 until 2006, I didn’t celebrate. Now, I mostly do just so I don’t ruin the day for my wife.

If for any reason you don’t or can’t celebrate, I hope that you have as good a day today as is possible for you. If you do celebrate? I wish the exact same thing for you. If I could, I would make today painless and festive for everyone, no matter what. But since I can’t, let’s embark on a Queue together.

This is fine. Everything is fine. I’m not stressed, are you stressed?

I tried very hard to answer every question that was given to me today, but unfortunately column restraints meant I couldn’t get to all of them. I didn’t actually discover this until I’d finished answering literally all of them — apparently the Queue doesn’t like it when you answer a good twenty questions at once. But hey — it’s my last Queue column for a while. I had to try, right? So let’s get to those questions y’all have.

So, I’ve switched Queue days with Elizabeth Harper, so this is our last Friday Queue. Don’t worry, I’ll be taking over Wednesday as of next week. So I won’t be leaving you all. I’m sure you are sad.

I’m playing a Dark Iron Dwarf Paladin and enjoying it so far. I’m terrible at it, but that’s besides the point.
