BlizzCon 2026 recap: Everything announced across all of Blizzard’s games
BlizzCon is officially over, and while there’s certainly more news that’ll roll in over the next few days, we’re been busy covering as much news across the Blizzardverse as possible. Below, you’ll find a complete summary of Blizzard Watch’s BlizzCon 2026 coverage.
Oh, and before we dive into franchise-specific content, be sure to check out how we rated the fashion from the Opening Ceremony (of course Holly Longdale killed it) as well as our round-up of official trailers from the Opening Ceremony.

Diablo turned heads and impaled angels with the surprise Diablo 5 reveal
- The big news: Diablo 5 is coming in 2029, set in a future where our heroes have fallen and Diablo rules Sanctuary
- But we’re also going to be getting a Diablo animated series from Netflix, and it sounds like even more animated series are on the horizon
- Diablo 4 asks you to stay a while and listen to Deckard Cain in Season 15’s Season of Hell’s Legacy
- Oh, and Diablo 4 is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on September 15
StarCraft‘s long-awaited return looks amazing, is several years away
- An all-new open-world StarCraft shooter was announced (but doesn’t arrive until 2030)
Heroes of the Storm‘s demise was greatly ex-Xal’atath-erated
- Xal’atath is becoming a Hero in Heroes of the Storm, the first new content since 2022

World of Warcraft experiences every reality with yet another WoW variant (and then some)
WoW: Forever
- World of Warcraft: Forever, the long speculated Classic Plus, has been unveiled and will launch worldwide on November 4, 2026
- As an added bonus, World of Warcraft: Forever’s roadmap gives us an idea of what to expect through summer 2027
- But how does WoW: Forever lore fit into current Warcraft lore? We found out!
- We, of course, shared our first impressions of World of Warcraft: Forever from the BlizzCon floor
- We got a first look at World of Warcraft: Forever’s Legacy system as well as an overview of the updated zones, quests, dungeons, and raids in WoW: Forever
- World of Warcraft: Forever will be realmless and will also let players choose last names
- And, the big question: How much does World of Warcraft: Forever cost?
WoW: Midnight
- Patch 12.2: Eclipse brings Xal’atath to the brink of her goal: Azeroth’s Worldsoul
- In patch 12.2, Night Elves, Forsaken, and Darkspear Trolls will finally learn to wield the light as Paladins
- But who cares about that when the biggest news (for us) is that we’ll finally be able to transmog across armor classes in Midnight patch 12.2.5
- Patch 12.2’s quality-of-life Housing updates include multiselect and copy/paste functions
- Looking for more? The new Talebound Mode turns Azeroth into a roguelite adventure in early 2027
- Wrath of the Lich King is the next expansion to get the Remix treatment, but not until next summer.
Warcraft 3: Reforged joined in on the “back from the dead” fun with a brand-new campaign
- Return to the fall of Lordaeron with new Warcraft 3 Reforged expansion, Forsaken Kingdom, announced (and live!) yesterday

Hearthstone takes us back to the good ol’ days of the Black Empire
- The next Hearthstone expansion is Reign of the Black Empire, releasing October 20
- The Monk class is coming to Hearthstone in March 2027
- Hearthstone Battlegrounds gets new family, Aberrations, with discard effects and Old God summoning, but Naga are out
Overwatch shakes things up with a role change and a sexy Talon vampire
- A lore-a-licious animated short introduced Doctrine, the next Support hero to join Overwatch
- Oh, and Sombra is a Support hero now, apparently?
That’s all for now! We’ll be sure to update this list as new articles are published. In the meantime, let us know what your favorite announcement from BlizzCon was (even if it’s not listed here)!
